The hike was attended by about 100 walkers. The central ceremony marking the anniversary was already held in May this year.

During the Second World War 578 severely wounded persons were treated in the Franja Partisan Hospital, and after the war it became a symbol of the partisan movement. In September 2007 disastrous flooding almost destroyed the whole complex and it had to be reconstructed almost in its entirety. The work was completed in 2010.

Today the Franja Partisan Hospital is a cultural monument of national importance. Throughout the decades it has remained a symbol of international alliance and resistance, and above all a precious reminder of humanity and comradeship.
