Are people in Slovenia rich?

Slovenia is considered a high-income nation, with per capita GDP at 18,000 euros. That’s the highest among eastern European countries. The closest is the Czech Republic, with per capita GDP at about 13,000. But it’s still roughly half of per capita GDP in neighbors Austria and Italy. And it’s a long, long way away from Europe’s per capita GDP champion Luxembourg, which is more than four times higher than Slovenia’s, at 76,000 euros.
