Beekeeping in Slovenia has a long history

Slovenia has a long history of beekeeping, but the story cannot be told without mentioning Anton Janša. Although he left Vienna with the hope of becoming a painter, it was in beekeeping that he found his true calling. His skills were so recognized that he established a beekeeping school. It was the first such school in Europe, and he has the honor of being the first teacher. Beekeeping in Slovenia has continued ever since.
