According to Cerar some of the commitments made at the mini EU-Balkans summit are already being implemented. He stressed the improved cooperation between Slovenia and Croatia. Cerar did wish however for the cooperation to improve even further, but he added that there was still time for that.
PM Cerar expressed concern that the flow of refugees does not seem to abate and that at moments it even increases. Cerar attributes that to the fact that there is still no control on EU’s external frontiers, even though it was one of the commitments at the mini summit in Brussels.
Cerar also rejected criticism about the lack of care for refugees. He replied that the government was accepting sound remarks and criticism and that he had no doubt that certain problems do arise when dealing with such large numbers of people. However, Cerar says we must not generalize the situation on the account of certain problems and rejects claims that those who offer care to the refugees are not doing their utmost best.
