Daily temperatures in the coastal region of Primorska have reached up to 25 degrees Celsius. With a good 20 degrees Celsius, the sea along the Slovenian coast is also warm, for many people still balmy enough for pleasant swimming.
On the beaches in Ankaran and Koper, there are still plenty of bathers who are excited about this summer extension. "It is absolutely wonderful, what can I say, the water is divine. It's wonderful, we are walking, swimming, sunbathing," they told us. Most would like for this kind of weather to last, even up to Christmas.
In the meantime, the Koper municipality is already setting up and testing winter holiday decorations, while on the terraces of the cafes, many are still enjoying the sun in short sleeves. But some are a little worried about such high temperatures in October, "considering that icebergs are melting". "It will be hard for our grandchildren, I imagine," says a concerned grandmother.
According to weather forecasts, the Indian summer will continue until at least mid-next week.
