We backed the minister on all key issues, however there were some discussions within the party regarding migration policy, admitted the party’s president Miro Cerar ahead of an SMC council meeting. The former interior minister favoured a migration policy that adhered strictly to Slovene and European legislation. She rejected the criticism of the human rights ombudsman, who warned her about her less than thorough handling of the personal circumstances of every foreigner.
Cerar, the party’s president, said he supported the country’s respectful stance towards migrants. "I think the minister took the issue too subjectively. In our collaboration, we worked properly," added Cerar.
