Three people in that car, 24-year-old Peter Kračun, 22-year-old Nataša Godec, 21-year-old Tjaša Koštomaj, died in the crash. Another was severely wounded. Maček was found to have a blood alcohol level of 2.2. He was given the maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. His lawyer argued that there was no malicious intent on the part of the his client, but rather negligence.
