These measures should temporarily solve the problems at the emergency department. Although the hospital received the consent of the Ministry of Health for the employment of six additional doctors, legislation prevents the employment of the doctors before the financial plan of the institution is accepted. Due to the unbearable conditions at the emergency department in Ljubljana, where patients have to wait more than seven hours for treatment, the employees of the emergency department signed a petition last week and demanded of Health Minister Alenka Trop Skaza to order the employment of additional doctors.
