Women in Slovenia are waiting longer to have their first child. Before 2000, the average age of a first-time mother was 27. In the decade since, the age has slowly but surely crept higher. It was 28 in 2006. In 2009: it was 30. And what kind of babies are they having? The answer is boys. More boys are born in Slovenia. Every year, there are about 500 more boys born than girls.
