Janša received the verdict as he appeared at the Ljubljana District Court for a hearing in a case of his party against Dejan Karba, a journalist for the daily Delo. Janša signed the court papers and left the court. Previously the court had tried to serve Janša the papers via his advocate Franci Matoz.
On the 28th April Slovenia’s High Court upheld the two-year jail sentence handed down to Janez Janša for bribery in an arms deal. Under Slovenian law the sentence should begin eight days after being served the papers at the latest a month after being served the papers.
