Kozolec is a wooden construction for drying and storing hay and grain

Travelling through Slovenia, you’ll probably notice hayracks standing out in the open. They are known here as the kozolec. It’s a free standing, mainly wooden, device for drying and storing hay and grain.Although similar versions do exist in parts of Europe, the double-linked hayracks known as “toplarji” are unique to Slovenia. That means that if you see one, you know you’re in Slovenia.
