In a press release Rehn pointed out, that he "is looking forward to see the effective rehabilitation of the banking sector", as this is one of the "major challenges" for Slovenia.The capital gap in the Slovenian banking sector is worth 4,778 billion EUR. From that 3,012 billion EUR will be needed for the recapitalisation of NLB, NKBM and Abanka Vipa, the country's three largest banks.
