The industry of tourist cruises that was slowed down by the Costa Concordia disaster, is recovering. The decision of Venice, to limit traffic in the lagoon, could mean a good business for all ports of the North Adriatic.
The port of Koper is also trying to reach an increase in the number of visitors. The passenger terminal now only has prefabricated buildings but plans to build a new passenger terminal in the coming years.
Koper was last year visited by 55 cruise ships with around 66 thousand passengers. For this year 52 cruise liners are already booked. The season will start on the 9th of April and end on the 4 of November. The last cruise liner, the Costa Diadema will also be the largest to visit Koper as the ship can carry 5 thousand passengers.
