Everybody knows the Japanese work hard and long hours… or do they? What if I told you that Slovenes work longer hours than the Japanese? You wouldn’t believe me. But according to the OECD, Slovenes are some of the hardest working people in the world. In 2008, Slovenes worked 1,956 hours. That’s 200 hours more than the Japanese and the Americans. And it’s 500 hours more than the Germans. Slovenia is well above the OECD average when it comes to the number of hours worked, and is thus home to some of the longest working people in the world.
