The municipality is demanding the signing of a long-term agreement that would last from 2014 up to the closure of the thermoelectric plant.

The municipality claims the build of the sixth block has negative effects on the inhabitants. They want the agreement to define the amount of compensation due because of harmful influences of the thermoelectric plant and the coal mine Velenje.

One of the proposals of an appropriate compensation is the build of a kindergarten and investment in cultural and sports objects. Among the demands of the municipality are also keeping the working spaces in the thermoelectric plant, the same amount of cooperation with the local contractors and all their demands must be upheld even if the leadership or current owner, the holding of Slovenian power plant, of the plant or coal mine changes.
