The Franja Partisan Hospital is near the town of Cerkno

The Franja Partisan Hospital is near the town of Cerkno. Yugoslav partisans used it from 1943 until the end of the second world war. The German army repeatedly tried to find it, but failed. Despite being very close to Italy and Germany, the hospital was well covered and to get there required crossing retractable bridges. Unfortunately, the historically valuable site was destroyed more than 60 years later by torrential flooding. But thankfully, it was entirely rebuilt and can still be visited today. And today, the way there is no longer secret, nor hidden.
