Slovenia has the most newspapers and periodicals per capita in the world. According to UNESCO, there are 100 newspapers and magazines for every million Slovenes. Just behind Slovenia is South Korea, followed by Nepal. At the bottom of the list: countries like Japan, Germany and Kenya, which have less than one publication per million people. But even if you take the total data, Slovenia does surprisingly well for its size. For non-daily periodicals, Slovenia still has more than countries like Germany, Poland, Spain and many others that are many times larger.
