There are more bears in Slovenia than in any other place on eart

Bears often appear as a national symbol. The city of Berlin uses a bear symbol, so does the Swiss capital, Bern. The bear does not appear in Slovenia’s national heraldry, which is a bit a of a surprise. Why? Because, according to some calculations, there are more bears per square kilometer in Slovenia than in any other place on earth! In fact, Slovenia occasionally has too many. It therefore allows for the hunting of bears, and has even exported them out of the country – to try to restock bear populations in the Alps.
