The question is how the country can come up with additional water to meet the needs of Istria. Some potential water sources have been found, including in Ilirska Bistrica, but will require significant funds. Also under consideration: a desalinization plant. However, many experts believe this would be a much-too-expensive solution for Slovenia’s water needs.
