Slovenia won its first Olympic gold medal today in judo!
Andreja Leški won the gold in the 63kg category, beating Awiti Alcaraz from Mexico.
Earlier in the semifinals Leški also beat the French home crowd favourite and reigning Olympic champion Clarisse Agbegnenou.
After winning the gold Leški said the recipe for success is having a strong desire, dedication, and believing in yourself.
This is Slovenia’s first medal at the Paris Summer Olympics.
