TV Slovenija's Media Project "Generation Renewal for CAP".

Summary:
In the EU, 31% of farms are owned by farmers older than 65, while only 5.6% farmers within the EU are less than 35 years of age. According to the UN forecast, the global population will require double the amount of food as it does now by 2050. This fact is closely related to the future of the common agricultural policy and will affect young generations in both rural and urban environments, as food is a strategic raw material of the future, dependant on climate change and new approaches, including urban farming, new green smart jobs in the countryside, digitisation and new technologies, which are all becoming a vital part of food production and CAP in the future, and is mainly in the hands of the younger generation.

The TV Slovenija media project »Generation Renewal for the CAP«, connects the Department of Children's and Youth Programmes – and People and the Land (Ljudje in zemlja), a more technical programme informing and raising awareness of both the young general public and the targeted farming population.
The media project will consist of different shows:
We will produce 12 Children's and Youth shows Curiologists about healthy eating, local food production, climate change ...
The Studio CrissCross series will present life on a farm through the personal stories of children.
Infodrom, the information series for young people, will tackle current topics, including climate change and its connection with CAP.
There will also be 25 shows named Young Village Folk presenting good practice from young farmers in different EU countries, including a round table of young Croatian and Slovenian farmers in cooperation with european young farmers association CEJA.
