News Tadej Pogačar Wins World Championships in Zurich

He becomes only the 3rd man in history to win the Giro d'Italia, Tour de France and World Championship road race in one season. Legendary rider Eddy Merckx of Belgium first did it in 1974. Ireland's Stephen Roche repeated the incredible feat in 1987.

It was a good day for Slovenia's kayakers and canoeists at the latest round of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup in Ivrea, just north of Turin. Benjamin Savšek won the Men's Canoe Final, while Eva Terčelj and Peter Kauzer were 3rd in their kayak finals.

The annual race comprises a number of circuits of Quebec City and is the first part of the Laurentian Classics, named after the St. Lawrence River which flows nearby. The second race is the Grand Prix of Montreal, which takes place tomorrow.

News Heavy Thunderstorm Causes Widespread Damage Across Styria

The area in and around the town of Slovenska Bistrica was the worst-affected. A clean-up operation was still ongoing in places this morning. Damaged red roof tiles had to be cleared from streets. More than 150 buildings in the municipality were affected.
