You’ve probably seen Slovenia’s euro coins already, but there are a few things about them that make them special. The first is the 2-cent piece, which shows the Prince’s Stone. What’s special about it? The fact that it’s actually in Austria today, and not Slovenia. The second is the 10-cent piece, which shows the cathedral of freedom. What’s special about that? The fact that it was never built and doesn’t exist in Slovenia. And, of course, the coins themselves aren’t made in Slovenia. Starting in 2008, they come from the Royal Dutch Mint in the Netherlands.
