The oldest existing document in Slovene is the Freising Manuscript. Probably written before the year 1000, they are also the first example of a text written in a Slavic language in Latin script.
The manuscript is currently in the Bavarian State Library in Munich. They have left only twice: once to the Vatican, and once for an exhibition in Ljubljana. Their authorship is still unclear, but the document’s historical importance remains tremendous.
