The Slovenian war lasted just 10 days

The Slovenian war for independence in 1991 was the first war in Europe since World War 2. It was also one of the shortest, lasting just 10 days, from June 27 to July 7, 1991. It was also, thankfully, one of the least bloody with less than 100 fatalities on both sides. Less than 20 Slovenes died in the fighting – every year, 10 times as many people die in Slovenia in automobile accidents.
