Slovenia is criss-crossed by about 500 kilometers of motorway. By comparison, Poland has about 900 kilometers of motorway despite being 15 times larger than Slovenia. However, Poland takes the prize when it comes to speed limits. The speed limit for Polish highways is 140 kilometers and hour, whereas in Slovenia it is 130. But don't let that fool you into thinking that Slovenes don't like fast driving. If you look at smaller European countries, you'll see that almost all of them have a 120 kilometer an hour speed limit. That includes Belgium, Holland, Ireland, Switzerland and all three of the Baltic States. Enjoy driving in Slovenia!
