There are about 3,000 churches in Slovenia

Anyone traveling around Slovenia has noticed plenty of chapels, churches and cathedrals across the landscape. The country has a long catholic tradition and has been called the “country of churches.” Altogether, there are about 3,000 churches, chapels and sacred buildings in the country. That’s close to the country that has the most churches per square kilometer: Jamaica. Jamaica has close to 2,000 churches – but in an area half the size of Slovenia.
