The Slovenian ice hockey team lost 3-1 this afternoon to Great Britain in a World Championship qualifying match in Budapest.

It's their second defeat in a row after losing a warm-up match with Austria on Thursday.

A goal by Ben O'Connor in the 7th minute was cancelled out by Blaž Gregorc in the 13th minute but Great Britain added further goals from the sticks of Robert Dowd and Brett Perlini in the 2nd and 3rd periods.

This puts pressure on Slovenia to win their next game tomorrow at 4 p.m. against Poland, to stand a chance of making it to next year's championships in Slovakia.

Only the top two teams will qualify and Slovenia must battle on without some key players.
