The Nobel Peace prizes were officially presented to this year's laureates, journalists Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov in Oslo. Maria Ressa is the first person from the Philippines to win the Nobel Peace prize. In 2012 she co-founded a government critical news website and was sentenced to jail last year. She's currently out on bail and was in Oslo for the ceremony. The other Nobel Peace Prize recipient Dmitry Muratov, was one of the founders of the independent Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta in 1993. A number of civil society and non-governmental organisations that have formed an initiative dubbed the Voice of the People has addressed a number of concrete requests connected to the rule of law, welfare, climate change, housing policy and the elderly, ahead of the general election, scheduled for 24 February next year. They called on political parties to take their position. The initiave already consists of 57 visible organisations.

The radio network of Radio Slovenija, which includes the 1st program of Radio Slovenija, Val 202, Ars, Radio Si, and the regional Radio Koper and Radio Maribor, has a weekly listening audience of between 660,000 and 690,000 listeners. That means Radio Slovenija's radio network is the most listened to of any other group of radio stations in Slovenia. These are the findings of the Radiometrija project and the Mediana survey into the listening habits of Slovenia's radio listeners.
