It was organised by a number of societies and civil initiatives under the title 'Not in my name', to highlight the number of ongoing conflicts around the globe and to call for peace.

Many people who took part in the rally held banners with slogans such as 'Stop Wars', 'Freedom' and 'Give People Peace'.

Last year, there were more than 59 wars between countries, the most since records began in 1946.
